🧠 One idea to sit with

We spend a lot of time chasing better hows:

how to be more productive
how to optimize our mornings
how to move faster
how to do more.

This is where tools and frameworks can help. But they can also make us highly efficient at things that don’t truly matter.

The deeper question is rarely how. It’s why:

Why does this matter to me? Why am I building this? Why am I saying yes to it? Why am I so tired?

The answers to the how can come from outside - learning from the paths others have set before us.

But the answers to our own why questions need to come from within β€” and the good thing is that they’re already there. We just need to get quiet enough to hear them.

✍️ One practice to try

Write down the 3 things taking most of your energy right now and beside each one, answer:

Why does this matter?

If the answer feels thin, simply notice that.

❓One question to carry

Where am I using discipline to avoid a more honest decision?

πŸ“ One quote to remember

❝

"There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.”

Peter Drucker

πŸ“· One real moment from our own week

We just got announced to speak at the world-renowned Mindfulness Expo next month at the Anaheim Convention Center.

When we started The Solo Retreat, it was such a niche category that people didn’t really understand our message quite yet. To be invited by such a well-established conference to speak in front of their audience about the power of solitude is quite an honor.

If you are in Southern California, come join us and say hi!
