π§ One idea to sit with
Thereβs a neurological reason why βshower thoughtsβ can be so incredibly insightful.
Itβs due to a part of our brains called the Default Mode Network.
It's responsible for self-awareness, long-term thinking, and creative insight. It's where your best ideas live.
And it doesn't activate when you're focused, productive, or "on." Because in those circumstances, you are too busy focusing outward for it to have any room. It comes online only when you stop.
The problem: most of us have engineered those moments out of existence.Β
We fill every second of our days in an attempt to maximize productivity (with good intentions). And then fill the moments of would-be silence with other noise (music, podcasts, audiobooks).Β
Stepping away from the work isnβt lazy. Itβs the only way to access our best thinking.
βοΈ One practice to try
1οΈβ£ Tomorrow morning, take 10 minutes before you open your phone.Β
2οΈβ£ Make coffee, sit, and stare out a window.Β
3οΈβ£ Notice what surfaces.Β
βOne question to carry
What do you think about when youβre not forcing yourself to think about something useful?
π One quote to remember
"Nothing can be accomplished without solitude."
π· One real moment from our own week
Each week, weβll close with something personal from our lives.
No filter. No fluff. Just a reminder that weβre walking this path right alongside you.
