🧠 One idea to sit with

There’s a neurological reason why β€œshower thoughts” can be so incredibly insightful.

It’s due to a part of our brains called the Default Mode Network.

It's responsible for self-awareness, long-term thinking, and creative insight. It's where your best ideas live.

And it doesn't activate when you're focused, productive, or "on." Because in those circumstances, you are too busy focusing outward for it to have any room. It comes online only when you stop.

The problem: most of us have engineered those moments out of existence.Β

We fill every second of our days in an attempt to maximize productivity (with good intentions). And then fill the moments of would-be silence with other noise (music, podcasts, audiobooks).Β

Stepping away from the work isn’t lazy. It’s the only way to access our best thinking.

✍️ One practice to try

1️⃣ Tomorrow morning, take 10 minutes before you open your phone.Β

2️⃣ Make coffee, sit, and stare out a window.Β

3️⃣ Notice what surfaces.Β

❓One question to carry

What do you think about when you’re not forcing yourself to think about something useful?

πŸ“ One quote to remember

❝

"Nothing can be accomplished without solitude."

Pablo Picasso

πŸ“· One real moment from our own week

Each week, we’ll close with something personal from our lives.
No filter. No fluff. Just a reminder that we’re walking this path right alongside you.
