🧠 One idea to sit with

In over 2.5 years, we’ve had one failed Solo Retreat. 🚫

The guest spent most of it on his phone, arguing with an ex over text. So while he changed his physical location, he brought the same noise with him.

That’s why we now vet every Solo Retreat guest – turns out that solitude is difficult and not everyone is up for the challenge.

Alignment doesn’t magically happen when you go to a nice location. It requires showing up for it – and that means being willing to sit with the discomfort instead of reaching for the thing that makes it go away.

✍️ One practice to try

This evening, put your phone in another room for 30 minutes. No music, no podcast, no background noise.Β

And just sit with whatever comes up.

If you want some structure for that quiet, our reflection quiz gives you a few simple prompts to work through.

❓One question to carry

Why am I picking up my phone right now?

Don’t beat yourself up. Simply try to notice the moments when you pick up your phone without a clear intention.

πŸ“· One real moment from our own week

I (Kyle) spent a few days in Cancun this week – good trip and much-needed reset from building the business.

Up watching the sunrise one morning, I had this reflection: I don't actually need to fly to Mexico to take a step back and enjoy the view. The permission was always there.

But sometimes it takes going somewhere new and beautiful to remind us of that.
