1 Insight β€’ 1 Practice β€’ 1 Reflection

🧠 One idea to sit with

Our brains never stop comparing.

In The Status Game, Will Storr calls it our β€˜status detection system’: a constant, background process that constantly scans our surroundings to measure where we stand relative to those around us.

That’s why complete solitude – real silence, no inputs (take off the headphones) – is the only way to step outside the comparison loop and hear yourself without interference.

After my (Eli) divorce, I was convinced that everything fell apart because of me. It wasn’t until I stepped away from my environment on my Solo Retreat that I realized the story I was living in wasn’t the full truth – just the only one available to me from that perspective.

Sometimes, it takes removing yourself to see what’s real and what’s just noise.

✍️ One practice to try

Give yourself 10-15 minutes of actual solitude.

Not a walk with a podcast. Not scrolling your phone. No inputs at all – just you, alone, with whatever comes up.

Solitude doesn't need to be long to be effective.Β

If you want some structure for that quiet, take our 5-minute reset. It’s a few simple prompts to help you hear yourself more clearly.Β

❓One question to carry

How often do you truly give yourself the space to be alone?Β

No podcast or music. No background chatter. Just you.Β

πŸ“ One quote to remember

"We withdraw not to disappear, but to find another ground from which to see."

πŸ“· One real moment from our own week

Each week, we’ll close with something personal from our lives.
No filter. No fluff. Just a reminder that we’re walking this path right alongside you.

Kyle & Eli’s Moment:

We’ve been asked about this sort of thing a lot lately, so we finally built it.

Reset Together is our new couples retreat curriculum. Same philosophy as the Solo Retreat, just designed for two β€” structured time to reconnect, get out of logistics mode, and actually talk about what's next.

If that's been on your radar,Β
